Clare Thornton
Clare Thornton, family law and divorce solicitor, Wakefield, West Yorkshire joined the practice in September 2004. Prior to that she had spent many years working as a family law and divorce solicitor in private practice in Wakefield and Castleford.
Clare took her degree at Sheffield University achieving a 2:1 BA(hons)Law. She qualified as a solicitor in 1995, and has specialised in family law ever since.
Clare is divorced, remarried and has 4 children, so fully understands from a personal point of view, the traumas of relationship breakdown!
Clare is an accredited specialist for Resolution (formerly Solicitors Family Law Association), and an experienced collaborative lawyer. She is also an accredited Resolution trained Mediator.
Although Clare continues to deal with traditional Family Law matters, including divorce, financial issues and children matters, she spends a large amount of her time now engaged in family mediation and collaborative law cases.

Elizabeth Fyfe
Liz Fyfe family law and divorce solicitor, Wakefield, West Yorkshire joined the firm on the 1st November 2004, and qualified as a solicitor on 15th April 2008. She joined the partnership in April 2009.
Liz attained a 1st class Honours degree in Law at Sheffield Hallam University, and achieved Student of the Year and Resolution prize for Family Law whilst at Nottingham Law School doing her Legal Practise Course.
She is a member of Resolution and now conducts cases in all aspects of Family Law including divorce, financial matters arising from separation and children matters. Liz also deals with conveyancing and Wills and Probate matters. She is a real asset to the team!
Anna Slater
Anna joined Thornton Jones Family Law Solicitors, Wakefield, in May 2011, and is already making her mark! She is an experienced paralegal who has specialised in Family Law for the last 8 years in Wakefield and Castleford. Her particular expertise is in Children matters, but she works closely with both Clare and Liz on all Family Law matters to ensure the high level of service and team work upon which we pride ourselves.

She was trained in a firm in Batley, and after that has spent all her many years working as a family law and divorce solicitor in Wakefield, West Yorkshire! She has established herself with a firm reputation as “the” Family Law solicitor in Wakefield.
Claire is divorced herself with 3 children, so firmly believes she has “got the T-shirt”!
In 2011, Claire remarried and moved down to Devon to start a new life. She is still very much connected with the firm and is a consultant for us, to ensure that our clients can still beneift from her wealth of experience as a highly regarded family law and divorce solicitor in Wakefield.
